Music is the window to the soul. We all wonder why sometimes I hear a tune and just can't get it out of my head. (Sounds like a song!) That is because we as humans are influenced by things that please us. Music is the number one art that stimulates different areas of the human body in ways we can't explain. The mind registers something that makes us happy and associates that pleasure. The mind then does not let us forget what we have heard. You walk by something that triggers the memory and bam! we start humming the tune. The sensations of music to the ear and mind rouse the soul and make you fly!!! Think of the 1812 Overture, can you remember the first part of that music? Bet you can't, but as soon as the cannons start going off you remember that part of the music to the end. Things that excite us we remember well. The music that I love the best is in an orchestral setting that uses the organ to bring the piece to a roaring ending!!! Every once in a while you will hear me play the "Widor Toccata" or the big "Joyful, Joyful, We adore thee" with a recorded (sequenced) orchestra part to it. When I am playing those pieces I can't even begin to communicate my feelings, excitement, being uplifted by these pieces. I always compare it to heaven, the feeling I get when I play these and other pieces I am so extremely happy and flying beyond the clouds that I know this is what heaven is like. So I hope that you "fly" with your music, there is so much music out there to lift us up. Take some time and sit back a listen, really listen to it. You will discover new meaning to music you have been listening to for years and it will take on a new meaning in your life.
